Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Payout Proof is operated by Ben Armstrong, trading as Payout Proof (ABN 22 790 282 035),
in Australia ("we", "us"). By installing the Payout Proof app or using payout-proof.com
(together, "the service"), you agree to these terms.
What the service is — and isn't
- Payout Proof is a read-only reconciliation tool: it compares the Shopify
payouts you authorise it to read against the accounting records you authorise it to read, and
reports where they match and where they don't. It never writes to your store or your books.
- The service provides information, not advice. Nothing it produces —
including suggested fix steps — is accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or financial advice. Decisions
about your books, your tax treatment (including GST), and any corrections you post remain
yours and your accountant's or bookkeeper's.
- Reports reflect the data available from Shopify and your accounting platform at the time of
the last sync. We work hard on accuracy but do not guarantee reports are complete, current, or
error-free — verify before acting on them.
Your account and responsibilities
- You must have authority over (or authorisation to access) the Shopify store and accounting
organisation you connect. Bookkeepers may connect client organisations only with the client's
authority; store connections are approved by the store owner installing the app.
- Keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
- Don't attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the service, or use it for anything unlawful.
Billing
- The service costs US$9 per month per business after a 14-day free trial,
charged through Shopify's billing system on your Shopify invoice.
- You can cancel any time by uninstalling the app; charges stop in line with Shopify's billing
cycle. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice; changes never apply retroactively.
Data
What we access, store, and delete is described in our
Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: read-only scopes,
no customer personal data, tokens encrypted server-side, deletion on uninstall/request.
Third-party platforms
Payout Proof is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Shopify Inc. or Xero Limited.
Shopify and Xero are trademarks of their respective owners. Your use of those platforms is governed
by their own terms, and the service depends on their APIs remaining available.
Disclaimer and liability
- The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any
kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss,
or for decisions made or corrections posted in reliance on the service's reports.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the
amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose (or, where liability
cannot be so limited under the Australian Consumer Law, to resupplying the service).
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate
access for breach of these terms or misuse of the service, and will delete your data as described
in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified via the app or email, and continued
use after notice is acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
